Wes Roth on Google DeepMind and it's new releases
Wes Roth makes YouTube videos on AI. (He generally knows what he’s talking about.) In this one he reviews Google’s recently announced new products. The image above is a still from a video generated by Veo2, Google’s new video generator. Roth says that Google’s products are all somewhat better than the similar products just released by OpenAI. (OpenAI just released Sora, its video generator. Here’s Roth’s Sora video.)
I’m very impressed with these Google products. They were developed by Google’s DeepMind subsidiary, which is run by Demis Hassabis. I’ve mentioned Hassabis in previous posts. Under his guidance, DeepMind has been doing extraordinary work—including, for example, AlphaFold, for which Hassabis shared this year’s Nobel prize in Chemistry.
To bring yourself up-to-date wrt AI developments, I recommend this Roth video.
