Why "Inside Trump's Head"

We are going inside Trump’s head because that’s where literally everything happens in American politics, which is not customary.
It usually happens in agencies, in Congress, in think tanks, etc. There are all kinds of external factors that influence what’s going on.
Now, and this is extraordinary, the only thing that has any bearing on anything in American politics is what’s inside Trump’s head.
This is not normal politics in which many different interests exert whatever influence they have to move American politics. Now, none of that happens. It doesn’t matter what other people or other organizations say. Trump will do whatever he wants to do, no matter what anyone else wants.
Michael Wolff wondered why there have been so few demonstrations. The answer is as Michael explained. Demonstrations make no difference to Trump. So why bother?
This seems obviously false, or at least a naive oversimplification. Local officials, from sheriffs to federal judges do see and digest, for example, 7 million people at the No Kings protests. That's politics and not "in trump's head". Sure, obviously, if you want to understand what trump will try to do, try to get away with, react to some thing, then you must model him and his influencers. But to boil all of politics down to one man is akin to "obeying in advance" ... agreeing that trump is king and the US is a monarchy. He's not that important. But Wolff is acting in his own best interests, grifting even (?), by overselling his own hobby horse.
